For inspiration for the project titled I Am, I drew from the mission of the Voyagers – space probes launched into the cosmos in the 1970s. Their mission, in addition to research, was to convey information about humanity to extraterrestrial forms of life. The content of the message was recorded on what is known as the Voyager Golden Record. It contained all kinds of data aimed at showcasing Earth’s nature, biology, but also the beauty of the human mind and sensitivity. The disc included greetings for those who might potentially discover the message from Earth.
In the project I Am, I give voice to everyone willing to leave their emotional imprint by recording a single word: I am.

Internet users from different corners of the world have so far sent over a hundred recordings. The spectrum of personalities captured in the sound of their voices is very wide—ranging from silence, through whispering, to shouting.
I am grateful for the recordings received so far and for the engagement in the project. In this way, I have created my more or less objective portrait of humanity. From the combination of voices, a soundscape has emerged, presented at successive exhibitions.
Ultimately, I would like the outcome of the project to be sent into outer space.
Sometimes I wonder how the recipients of the Voyager Golden Record would perceive the picture of life on planet Earth that I have proposed.
I invite you to participate in the project and mark your presence in the universe.
